Guardian Media Group has appointed Richard Eyre as a non-executive director of the company.
Richard Eyre's career spans nearly 30 years in the media business, on both the agency and client sides in radio, broadcast television and independent television production.
Following an early career in advertising, culminating in his role as Media Director of Bartle Bogle Hegarty from 1986-1991, Richard was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Capital Radio.
He moved to the ITV Network in 1997 as Chief Executive Officer and then became Chairman and Chief Executive of Pearson Television in 2000 and subsequently Director of Strategy and Content for RTL following its merger with Pearson.
He is non-executive Chairman of RDF Media, an independent television producer, Chairman of the Interactive Advertising Bureau, a non-executive director of Digital Bridges, and an advisor to 19 Management Ltd. In addition he is a Director of The Eden Project in Cornwall.
