IRC Dubai are to host the inaugural Middle East radiocast awards 2006.The first industry awards for Radio in the Region are to be held as the glittering finale of the International Radio Conference, Dubai.

Organisers of International Radio Conference, Dubai (IRC Dubai) have claimed another first for the Middle East?s radio industry with the announcement that the region?s first radio awards will be held on the closing night of IRC Dubai.

The Middle East radiocast awards 2006 will be presented at a gala dinner ceremony at Madinat Jumeirah, The Arabian Resort – Dubai on 18th May 2006. The awards are organised by radiocast. Also part of radiocast is, the only dedicated web portal for radio professionals in the Middle East.

Ten different award categories are open for entry to stations and networks broadcasting over AM or FM transmitters in Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. An international panel of radio industry professionals will judge the award categories with Mark Story, Managing Director, Radio Programming, EMAP and Steve Martin, On Air Editor, BBC World Service already confirmed on the judging panel. IRC Dubai will take place from 16th to 18th May 2006 at Madinat Jumeirah, The Arabian Resort, Dubai. Aimed at international radio, media and advertising professionals, the three day conference comprises nineteen different forums and sessions, examining pertinent issues and challenges facing the radio industry at large across the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Indian Subcontinent.
