Laser Broadcasting has today announced that it has reached agreement with Choice Media to purchase Quaywest fm based in West Somerset and BCR fm based in Bridgwater. This is one of a number of purchases agreed by Laser Broadcasting including Classic Hits in Hereford and Worcester and Sunshine in Ludlow.
Laser has also taken a holding in leading commercial production company NYPD. Until the purchase is completed Laser Broadcasting and Choice Media Group have entered a management agreement to run the stations and assist with a smooth transition with immediate effect.
Said Hugh Morgan Williams, Chairman of Laser Broadcasting, “We are delighted to have reached agreement to purchase these stations. Not only do the stations have tremendous potential in their own right but they also tie in with our current Exeter licence bid and our planned South Wales licence bid. Everyone at Laser is keen to work with the teams at Quaywest fm and BCR fm with special emphasis on developing the revenue streams. These stations have maintained a high standard of programming while we can offer many years of local sales experience.”
Paul Andrews, Chairman of Choice Media Group, agreed with this saying: “We are delighted that Laser Broadcasting will be taking both stations forward.
