Bill Griffin is to become MD of the new Kiss radio network – which, can officially reveal will include the rebranding of two former SRH stations to become Kiss 101 (currently Vibe 101 in Bristol) and Kiss 105-108 (currently Vibe 105-108 in East Anglia).

At the same time, Kiss 100 in London will gain a new sound, new logo, and provide network programming during daytime and weekends to the new network. The re-launch of all three stations will take place on September 6th 2006.

The move will increase the analogue footprint of Kiss to nearly 15 million adults, providing a vastly increased FM analogue distribution, complemented by Kiss? national digital service on DAB, Freeview, cable & satellite. The Kiss website is undergoing a major relaunch to offer a series of new channels, encompassing music, clubbing, entertainment and user generated content.

A new domain name will link all touchpoints of the Kiss brand. ?Kiss is one of the biggest youth media brands in the UK and is consistently the number one station for 15-34s in London. We wanted to build on Kiss? incredible heritage whilst updating and expanding the distribution, content and marketing for 2006 and beyond. To recognise Kiss? status as a national media brand, we are building on the current ?young, fun London? ethos with a new philosophy – ?first to move?. We?ll also be putting a fresh emphasis on the multi-platform distribution of Kiss, truly embracing Kiss TV and the Kiss website in the ?Total Kiss? world.?

Andy Roberts, in his new role as group programme director of the expanded Kiss network, has been working to refresh the sound of the station.

He said: ?It?s important that Kiss constantly evolves. It must never stand still either musically or editorially and it must not be afraid to take risks. More and more technology will play a huge role in how people consume us but at the core of this we must continue to create engaging programming that people can use and interact with. Since coming back to Kiss in May I?ve already refreshed the music policy providing a more optimistic and upbeat promise to the listener along with a new selection of presenters and specialist DJ?s to come. This is again a great time for a new Kiss and for new listeners to discover Kiss from our new Network of stations.?

Kurt Edwards, Kiss commercial director, said the Kiss sales team would now be looking for strategic partners with whom to build longterm relationships.

He said: ?The new Kiss Radio Network offers youth advertisers the chance to talk to 2.4 million young adults every week – and with over 6 million adults engaging with the Kiss brand every month through all its platforms, Kiss is a truly multi-platform youth offering, standing head and shoulders above the rest in a cluttered media market. With our market leading insight we will deliver bespoke solutions to talk to this audience in their language whenever, wherever and however they want.?
