Off-air Star’s best ever reach

Star Radio Stroud's Q3/06 RAJAR figures show the station hit its best ever reach, 15%, in the final three months it was on the air.

UKRD handed back the licence to Ofcom at the end of last month, saying it wasn't commercially viable and had not been in profit since launching in 1998.

Ofcom had refused an application for the station to share programming with neighbouring Star Radio Cheltenham, although it had agreed to a co-location of the two. That prompted UKRD to become the first company to return a licence to the broadcasting regulator.

Today's figures show that year on year the audience almost doubled from 7,000 to 13,000 listeners per week, so in their final months the audience was a record 15% of the TSA.
