Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus has been dropped from her weekly radio show on Emap station Clyde 1. She has been presenting the Saturday Night show in Glasgow for nine months but bosses have told her to take a break.

A source at the station told the Daily Record: "Michelle has a special talent of connecting with listeners and she will be missed in our New Year schedule. But we have some exciting plans for the Clyde 1 line-up in January.

"Michelle leaves with all our best wishes and the door is always open for her to return to Clyde 1."

Michelle told bosses she could not host the show in January, so was told to end the show this Saturday then do a different slot when she comes back.
