Yorkshire Dales station Fresh Radio has unveiled more details about its impending switch-over to FM from AM. The first of 6 new transmitters will go live on Sunday 11th February in Richmond, North Yorks. Others will follow in Ilkley, Pateley Bridge, Skipton, Settle and Grassington.
No details have been yet revealed about the new frequencies to be used. The first new FM relay will launch at 10am on Sunday 11th Feb with Jeremy Gartland the first presenter on-air on the new frequency for Richmond, Catterick and the Northern Dales. RadioToday.co.uk has learnt that transmitters for Ilkley and Pateley Bridge are scheduled to launch on the following two Sundays throughout February.
The 936KHz medium wave transmitter, currently sited at Hawes in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales is to remain, alongside the new FM frequencies after clearance was given by Ofcom earlier this month.
