The legendary late Radio 1 DJ John Peel has been voted the most influential broadcaster by the radio industry. The Sony Radio Academy Awards panel had picked a shortlist of 25 that people working in the industry have been picking their favourites from over the last few weeks. John's widow Sheila Ravenscroft accepted the award on his behalf.
Over the last hour Right Said Fred, Jamelia, Tony Blackburn and Beverley Knight were among the celebs on stage to hand out awards. The BBC have picked up 21 of the 27 awards handed out so far.
