BBC Radio 2 is to air a documentary during the Christmas period about the Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson, to mark the 25th anniversary of his death.

The hour long programme, produced for the BBC by Made in Manchester Productions, is presented by the Who singer Roger Daltrey.
MIM Creative Director Ashley Byrne says: “Dennis Wilson’s story, which has never been properly told, is among the most interesting and tragic in rock and roll history. And Made in Manchester is delighted to be able to bring it to Radio 2.”
Using new interviews with family, friends and band-mates Pacific Ocean Blues: The Life and Death of Dennis Wilson examines every aspect of his personality and talent.
Producer Matt Haslam says: “The programme looks at his song-writing development using music, some of which had not been heard until recently. It charts his spiral into drug and alcohol addiction and his struggle to find happiness, leaving behind a string of failed marriages and a number of children.”
Those recalling Dennis’ life include his ex-wives Barbara and Carole, former members of the Beach Boys and his closest friends, many of whom have agreed to be interviewed for the first time ever.
