Recently launched The Coast 106 is making use of a Restricted Service Licence from Ofcom to re-broadcast the station on the Island of Guernsey.
The broadcast, on 87.9 FM is on-air until December 14th, is aimed at promoting the Southampton-based station to people on Guernsey for when they travel to the mainland.
Kevin Stewart, now managing director of The Coast 106 was one of the founding directors of Tindle Radio, operators of Island FM on Guernsey. He told RadioToday.co.uk about the listener reaction to The Coast 106 so far: "Never in my radio career have I witnessed such an amazing response to the start of a radio station."
In addition, voice-over man and former Virgin Radio presenter Mitch Johnson has joined the station to host the drivetime show, and former Smooth Radio London boss Gavin McCoy is acting as a full time consultant for the station.
