Ofcom has today invited declarations of intent to apply for the FM local commercial radio licence for Macclesfield. The licence, which is currently held by Silk FM, is due to expire in May 2010.
The media regulator also proposes to grant a second licence for the Macclesfield area that will run from May 2010 to the end of 2015. Prospective applicants are invited to tender declarations by the 1 April.
In related news, the media regulator has announced that it has received only one declaration of intent for the Havering local commercial radio licence and that’s from the incumbent licensee, Time 107.5 Ltd. It’s also been revealed today that it’s re-awarded the local FM commercial licence for the Hastings area to the current licensee, Arrow FM, that licence will run until the end of 2015.
