Bauer Media's Kerrang Radio is to close its news operation in Birmingham, with the loss of four jobs locally. Local news will instead be provided by Key 103 in Manchester.

The Birmingham Post [link=]reports[/link] that the four-strong news team have been offered redundancy, with the potential for two positions to relocate to Key 103.
A spokesperson for Bauer Media said: "Our strategy is to locally invest in the best programming and creative talent to inform and entertain our listeners. The resource needed to do that is flexed up and down in order to best serve their audience and advertisers.
“We are now proposing to reshape our Kerrang! teams to support the business going forward."
Just last month the Kerrang! brand, along with Heat, Q, The Hits and Smash Hits were all withdrawn from the Sky satellite platform in a cost cutting measure for Bauer. Q, The Hits, Kerrang and Smash Hits were also removed from Virgin Media at the same time.
The Kerrang! 105.2 team (pictured above) won the Station of the Year award (over 1 million) at the recent Sonys in London.
