BRMB was back in the news this weekend after the Birmingham Christmas Lights switch-on, which the station helped organise, had to be cancelled due to safety reasons.
People became trapped under metal fencing after crowds pushed their way through closed gates after the event reached its capacity.

Over 20,000 people turned up to see JLS, Alexandra Burke and the Sugababes at the event on the BRMB stage.
Birmingham City Council, Emergency Services, BRMB and Millennium Point held an emergency meeting which resulted in the event being cancelled following JLS's performance.
BRMB's Phil Riley: "We are all as disappointed as everyone else that we had to cancel the event, as you can imagine we’ve worked hard across the last three months to ensure that today’s line up was bigger and better than ever before. However the safety of our listeners is our utmost importance and once this was compromised there was no other option than to cancel the event".
In a previous life, BRMB hit the headlines after a competition involving four contestants sitting on blocks of dry ice for as long as possible, didn't go according to plan.
