Former Metro Radio presenter Mark Thorburn is joining the enlarged Star Radio network of stations for a new weekend show.
The new station takes over from Durham FM, Alpha and Minster Northallerton in Durham, Darlington and Northallerton tomorrow.

Mark Thorburn says he he delighted to be back on the radio, especially after recent events: "I look forward to playing my part in making Star Radio a big success across County Durham and North Yorkshire."
Rafe Parker, Programme Controller of Star Radio, said “I am so pleased that Mark has decided to join us. He’s a well known name across the North East and a fantastic presenter, who will fit in well with the Star brand and its audience!”
Mark left Bauer Radio after 10 years on-air when a local newspaper printed a number of inappropriate emails between listeners and himself.
