The Commercial Radio industry has launched a national appeal across its network to raise money for those affected by the recent Cumbrian floods. Commercial stations around the country will begin airing appeals this week.
Working in partnership with The Cumbria Community Foundation, the stations hope to help boosts the Foundation’s coffers, which has so far managed to raise one million pounds.
Andrew Harrison, chief executive of RadioCentre, the industry body for Commercial Radio said: “We’re pleased to be working with the Cumbria Community Foundation to run this national appeal for those affected by the floods.
“Stations around the country will now air an appeal to make sure that the devastation caused to people’s lives doesn’t get forgotten – particularly with Christmas around the corner.”
Anyone wanting information about the appeal should log onto Cumbria Community Foundation’s website or call the dedicated phone line: 01900 820827.
