Training on offer from Moray

Moray Firth Radio's non-profit making charity MFMT has received funding from European Structural Funds to help develop and run its radio broadcasting training programmes.
Moray Firth Media Trust received £63,000 from the ESF, as one of 65 projects supported by the organisation.

Liz McIntyre, project manager for MFMT, said: “The funding we received from ESF has helped us provide valuable training and will undoubtedly create radio stars of the future.
“However, the course is about more than just the practical skills, it also helps to build the student’s confidence which can open new doors and lead to further employment opportunities. One of our students went on to pursue a career in the construction industry and they continue to get involved with the radio station on a voluntary and paid basis.
“Our aim is to be inclusive and encourage trainees to use their own voice throughout the courses, which encompasses everything from VQ approved 'Certificate in Radio Broadcasting' to one day ‘Introduction to radio’ courses.”
Moray Firth Media Trust is also able to offer evening classes where three of its current presenters met and came up with the concept for their show.
Set up by Moray Firth Radio in 1999, the non-profit making charity MFMT is in its 10th year of delivering its now renowned Certificate in Radio Broadcasting.
