BBC Radio 5 Live is taking its place for the 2010 General Election by launching The 5 Live Election Story.

The online resource will keep track of key interviews and listener comment from across a range of platforms, across the BBC.

Users of the site will be able to review this content by date or issue with the help of a timeline, issue pages and a word cloud.

The 5 Live Election Story also pulls in conversation with the audience via Twitter, Facebook, blogs and texts, so that on any one given day the user will be able to see how much chat and discussion there has been about a particular issue on 5 Live.

Users will be able to view live video streams of the party leaders during the 5 Live breakfast phone-in with Nicky Campbell and Shelagh Fogarty when they will be taking listener questions on-air.

Built by Manchester-based web design agency magneticNorth, the site is already live to capture the first day's interviews and comment and will run throughout the General Election campaign.

Radio 5 Live Interactive Editor, Brett Spencer, said; "This is the only audio tool that will allow you to track the election campaign by topic throughout the month. It will provide an easy to navigate audio guide through the major political issues in the run-up to the General Election."
