Pirate FM questions Cameron

One hundred Pirate FM listeners have tackled David Cameron on everything from his plans to stop hundreds of new schools being built to his policy on primates as pets.

The PM was in Newquay when the station put forward the questions from listeners.

During the hour long session he asked listeners for help in identifying ways of removing waste from public services. But the biggest laugh of the afternoon came when the Prime Minister admitted he did not know his government’s policy on keeping primates as pets. He promised the listener who asked the question to get back to her.

Pirate FM’s Programme Director Bob McCreadie commented, “It’s a shame that the Prime Minister got a bigger laugh than our Head of News and Breakfast co-host, Tristan Hunkin, during his opening. We’ll be contacting Downing Street shortly to see if Mr Cameron would like some swing work.”

The event at Trenance Infant School was organised by Pirate FM and Downing Street in less than four days and extracts of it were carried live by BBC News. Pirate FM is making the full question and answer session available as a download, having beamed Tweets and photos of the event live onto its website.
