UTV has announced details of a restructure of its creative teams with the group’s 13-strong local radio division.

Three new creative writers have been taken on as part of a centralisation of production to a base at Signal Radio in Stoke-on-Trent.

Each of the 13 stations now has a locally-based creative writer who reports to both the station management and the group.

The production team has been centralised in Stoke supervised by Chris Peace, which UTV says will ‘ensure maximum efficiency and create a centre of excellence for radio production’.

Heads of Creative based in Bradford (Ivan Renhard), Stoke (Louise Johnson) and Liverpool (Dave Monk) will oversee the work for the local stations. Monk has been taken on to head up the group’s creative hub at Juice FM in Liverpool will be headed up by newly hired Dave Monk who joins with a vast experience of writing, producing and voicing radio commercials as well as training writers and sales teams in radio creativity.

Julian Carter, Commercial Director for the ILRs at UTV Radio, said: “In these tough times we’re committed to getting better results for clients and an effective creative department is essential to making campaigns work. Creative selling is critical to driving local revenue.”
