Former Radio 1 Controller Andy Parfitt is among the line-up for this year’s RadioCentre members’ conference next month.

The Vice President of Marketing Services at Sony Music Entertainment, Fred Bolza, will also speak at the event on 4th July alongside Parfitt, who now works for ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi.

The conference looks at the ‘evolution of the commercial radio industry and how it continues to reinvent itself in the face of a multiplatform future’, and will be chaired by Classic FM and Heart presenter Margherita Taylor.

Other speakers include the BBC’s Brett Spencer, who works on digital and interactive content for Radio 2 and 6 Music, and Kiss Programme Director Andy Roberts, who won the Sony Gold for Station Programmer of the Year at last month’s Radio Academy Awards. There will also be a ‘Radio Hub’ exhibition for delegates.

Andrew Harrison, CEO of RadioCentre, said: “Radio has continued to hold its own in terms of listeners and impact in an ever changing media landscape, but that doesn’t mean we should be complacent. This year’s conference will look at some of the challenges we face, and how we can work collaboratively to secure radio’s on-going success story.”

The conference is free for RadioCentre members only, so representatives from commercial stations who are signed up to the organisation can attend simply by booking a place with RadioCentre. Companies including UKRD and UTV Media are not members of RadioCentre, but most other groups are. It takes place in the same venue as the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards, which follow the conference on 4th July.
