Absolute Radio Chief Operating Officer Clive Dickens is to chair this year’s Radio Festival, taking over from former Radio Academy boss John Myers.
The event, held in Salford Quays in November, will this year feature Frank Skinner talking to Adrian Chiles, plus interviews with Global Radio’s Richard Park and Radio 1’s Ben Cooper.
They will be joined on the schedule by Twitter UK’s Bruce Daisley who will highlight how the platform complements broadcast radio and is being embraced by the radio industry worldwide.
Returning as main hosts are Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie from BBC 6 Music and Radio 2, whilst Margherita Taylor from Classic FM will also be returning as host of Room 2. The dates for your diary are November 12th to 14th 2012.
Clive Dickens told RadioToday.co.uk: “It is an honour to chair the Radio Festival 2012. This is an event for radio, media, marketing and PR professionals to gain insight into the growing influence and power of radio – a medium which reaches 90% of the UK population each week (source RAJAR Q1 2012). Located in the heart of the new MediaCityUK – Salford proved a worthy host last year and this year is set to be even bigger.”
More details will be announced over the coming weeks and months, but tickets are now on sale via the Radio Academy website.
