Hattie Pearson, winner of the Best Female Presenter at the Student Radio Awards 2012 is joining Xfm for a networked early weekend breakfast show.

Hattie Pearson, who won her SRA for her work at Fuse FM Manchester, tweeted the news this afternoon, saying she was celebrating by having two weeks in Thailand!

Also joining the Global Radio station are Phil Clifton who is returning to present The Weekender on Friday nights at 7pm-10pm, from this week and Jo Good who’ll be presenting The Xfm Review Show for an hour on Sunday nights at 9pm.

Comedian Josh Widdicombe is also joining for weekend mid-mornings. He’s co-host of Channel 4’s The Last Leg and a regular on shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats, Mock The Week, Live at the Apollo and Stand Up For The Week.

He said: “I am so delighted I have been offered the chance to do this show on a station where I have previously listened topeople I love like Adam & Joe, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Also, it’s nice to finally be offered a job where I don’t have to brush my hair.”

Xfm Managing Editor Chris Baughen said: “Xfm has a strong tradition of delivering great comedy on the radio and Josh will only add to this rich history.”

Also, every Sunday night from 10pm, Maz Tappuni from Communion will be sharing the music the label is passionate about, welcoming inspirational artists to the show and delivering an hour packed with live sessions, interviews, gig guides and plenty more.

Xfm Managing Editor Chris Baughen said: “They’ve already been instrumental in helping shape the careers of some amazing bands and artists and now we’re extremely proud to be welcoming Communion into the Xfm fold.”
