BBC Radio 2 morning presenter Ken Bruce has signed a new three-year contract with the station, keeping him there till he’s 65.

kenbruceKen told the Mirror newspaper he’s far too young to think about retiring, and how much he has a great time going in to work every day.

“If it wasn’t fun the audience wouldn’t like it and I would know to try something else. Anyway, I’m far too young to think about retiring,” he said.

Ken started at BBC Radio 2 in 1982 as a stand-in presenter and recent rumours suggested Simon Mayo was due to takeover the mid-morning show from Ken which he has presented continuously since 1992.

Before joining Radio 2, he was a staff announcer in his native Scotland for Radio 4 Scotland and BBC Radio Scotland.
