BBC Wales’ Colin Paterson is heading back to Scotland to become part of the senior team at BBC Radio Scotland.
He’s taking up the role of Editor of Topical Programmes and events for the station, and will take direct responsibility for morning shows, Scottish referendum coverage and the Commonwealth Games, including a separate radio station being set up for the games in Glasgow.
Colin has been at BBC Wales as Executive Producer since 2010, working on some of the station’s major projects including last year’s schedule relaunch and the London 2012 coverage.
Previously, Colin launched Talk 107 in Edinburgh, before becoming Programme Controller at Red Dragon in 2008. He was also programme director for Magic 1170 and TFM.
His last day will be 12th of July.
In an email to staff, editor Steve Austins said: “Colin will be a real loss to both Radio Wales and BBC Wales as a whole but this is a great opportunity for him, and I’m pleased that we get to retain his skills within BBC Radio and within the Nations.”
