Two old radio desks are on eBay after Signal 1 and Signal 2 had a major studio refit in Stoke-on-Trent.
The original studio desks were built by Tweed audio and KW electronics and are now being offered for sale, and all proceeds will be donated to Help a Signal Child. The charity is the station’s fundraising vehicle, aiming to help disadvantaged children in the region.
Rachel Austin, Station Director at Signal Radio, said: “The refit has totally transformed the studios and we look forward to using the equipment to the best of its potential. We put the old desks on eBay and know there will be great interest because of their role in the history of commercial radio.”
Senior Programme Controller Chris Buckley told RadioToday: “This is a piece of radio history that would suite any community start up station. Over the past 30 years some of the biggest names in radio have used one of these desks including Mark Franklin, Geoff Lloyd and even Chris Moyles.
“It was in a way a little sad to see them go but it was time to upgrade all our studios.”
