Following a Featured Vacancy on the new RadioTodayJobs, Radio Independents Group has appointed Will Jackson as its first Managing Director.
Will has previously worked for the BBC, Ofcom and commercial radio, and will work with Chair Phil Critchlow and the RIG Board, as part of a support team which also includes RIG’s policy and communications adviser Tim Wilson, and media and IP expert Paul March, who will provide legal and business affairs advice.
He’ll continue to develop RIGs relationship with the BBC as well as commercial clients and other sectors, both in the UK and abroad.
Immediate priorities will include managing a planned RIG training scheme; exploring new commercial opportunities and developing further services for RIG members.
RIG Chair Phil Critchlow said: “The RIG Board is delighted that Will has agreed to be our first MD. His great knowledge of, and experience in, our industry made him the natural choice amongst a strong field. As RIG grows as a trade association we know he will satisfy the growing demands of our sector”.
Will Jackson commented: “I am delighted to take up this position at what is a crucial time for RIG. The sector continues to show enormous creativity and deliver groundbreaking projects, yet there is much work to be done to ensure it gets the external recognition it deserves, whilst providing a growing range of high quality services to its members”.
