Dominic Walker is returning to Wire FM to host the breakfast show from Monday 15th September.
He was previously host of the show from 2003 to 2007 and has also worked at on Bauer’s Big City network plus Signal, Wish, 2BR and Radio Napa.
Dominic is the stadium announcer for Warrington Wolves and has also hosted some of the matches in the Rugby League World Cup 2013.
“Having lived in Warrington all my life, I know the area very well – and I absolutely love it. I can’t wait to start working on the flagship show of the station and wake up listeners with the music and features that I’m sure will go down well,” he told RadioToday.
Terry Underhill, Group Programme Director for UTV Media (GB)’s local stations added: “Dominic is a very talented broadcaster and we’re proud to have him back at UTV. No one knows Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn like Dominic and we know that our listeners will love him.”
He replaces Simon Nicks – Nicksy in the Morning – who is joining UKRD. (we’ll bring you more on that next week!) Dominic and Nicksy are co-hosting the show Friday morning for an on-air handover.
