A new facility at a Manchester hospice has opened thanks to money raised by Key 103’s Cash for Kids charity.

The station raised over £100,000 for Francis House Children’s Hospice in Didsbury and this week their new AV POD was officially opened, to help improve the lives of poorly kids in the North West.
The new multi-purpose POD is a private space that can be adapted to each child’s needs. It will allow kids to record legacy messages for their families at a very difficult time. It can also be converted to a sensory room and home cinema to ensure that patients feel as comfortable as possible at the site.
Mike & Chelsea from the Key103 breakfast show attended the opening of the facility. Mike said, “Whenever we visit Francis House with Cash for Kids we find the incredible work done here extremely humbling and we’re happy to help where we can.” Chelsea added “The new POD paid for by the people of Greater Manchester is amazing, it’ll go a long way to help the kids, friends and families associated with Francis House”.
