Newsreader Suzanne Bamborough is to co-present Breakfast with former Capital FM presenter James Cannon on BBC Surrey.
Suzanne is known to local listeners already having worked at the station for a number of years. She previously worked at Spire FM in Salisbury.
Commenting on the appointment, Station Editor Sara David said: “I’m delighted to welcome Suzanne to the BBC Surrey Breakfast team. She combines warmth and humour, with a passion for journalism and getting to the heart of stories that really matter to our audience. Both James and Suzanne are highly experienced broadcasters and I know that together they’ll make for an unmissable start to the day”.
James Cannon has been on the show since April 2013.
Suzanne said: “I want to get my teeth into some of those local issues which affect us all, whether it’s housing, transport or fracking, bringing those in authority to account, and giving a female perspective to things. I also can’t wait to work with James, who shares my wicked sense of humour!”
Assistant Editor Mark Carter added: “This appointment comes at a really great time for BBC Surrey. We have lots of exciting plans on the horizon for the station and we are also taking nominations for the fourth year of our BBC Surrey Community Heroes Awards, which promises to be the best yet. The audience really is at the heart of everything that we do.”
“Breakfast with James and Suzanne” will broadcast each weekday morning on BBC Surrey between 6 and 9am from September 15th.
