Thousands of Easter Eggs are being delivered to less-fortunate children in Surrey and Hampshire via Eagle Radio.

The Eagle Radio Easter Egg Appeal is now in its 18th year and the station hopes to collect a record amount of eggs this year with three more drop-off points than last time.

More than 50 charities and organisations will benefit and thousands of youngsters will have a happier Easter, the station says.

Peter Gordon, Programme Director at Eagle Radio, said: “The Eagle Radio Easter Egg Appeal is now 18 years old and the generosity of our listeners never ceases to amaze me.

“The aim of the appeal is simply to make Easter a happier time for less-fortunate youngsters in our area. We have made it as easy as possible for people to donate this year, with many local businesses getting involved to become collection points alongside the libraries.”
