BBC Radio 6 Music has been honoured with the Radio Station award at a major award ceremony in for the 5th time in a row.
Two out of the 20 awards given out at the annual Music Week Awards in London are related to radio – the other being best Radio Show which this year has been won by Alice Levine from BBC Radio 1.
The finalists for Radio Station were Absolute, Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music and XFM. Radio Show finalists were Andy Bush from Absolute Radio, Bob Harris Country at Radio 2, XFM’s Danielle Perry, Lauren Laverne & Steve Lamacq from 6 Music, plus Alice Levine.
Alice has been at BBC Radio 1 since January 2013 when she joined to host the weekday late show and weekend afternoons. Before that she worked in television at Channel 5 and MTV.
BBC Radio 6 Music the Best Radio Station title last year whilst XFM’s John Kennedy got the award for Best Radio Show.
