Kurupt FM show returns for a second series

A mockumentary series about a radio station called Kurupt FM is returning for its second run on BBC Three.

The show, called People Just Do Nothing, is filmed at a fictional pirate radio station based in Brentford which is billed as West London’s second most popular pirate station.

The Kurupt FM crew first appeared on our screens in a Comedy Feed in 2012, and a full series followed on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three earlier this year.

The 5 x 30 minute series is commissioned by Shane Allen, Controller of Comedy Commissioning and Sam Bickley, Channel Editor for BBC Three. Created by Roughcut Television, produced by Jon Petrie and executive produced by Ash Atalla for Roughcut Television and Chris Sussman for BBC Comedy Commissioning.

Executive producer Ash Atalla says: “When new talent is this good, and this cheap, the BBC insists on a second series. In truth, I think People Just Do Nothing is at the start of a successful journey. I fully expect to see the boys looking awkward in tuxedos making a misjudged acceptance speech someday soon.”

Producer Jon Petrie added: “We’re chuffed that BBC Three has confirmed series two. We were very proud of our first series and are pleased to get the chance to spend more time with the Kurupt FM crew and their families.”

Commissioning Editor Chris Sussman added: “I’m delighted we’ve re-commissioned this series. I know for a fact it’s one of the Director General’s favourites. I once saw him in the lifts throwing his Ks up.”
