A radio station for the Ghanaian diaspora is set to launch on DAB digital radio in London.

Ahomka Radio, currently broadcasting on the satellite platform, will simulcast its output in the London area after Ofcom agreed a multiplex variation request for the London 3 mux.

The station says it offers ‘The sparkling shine of Africa’ and will aim to reach out to all segments of the community to encourage access to the airwaves, enabling Ghanaians in the Diaspora to share their ideas and cultures with the community at large.

Ahomka Radio seeks to report the news, entertain, challenge and educate listeners through responsible, thought provoking discussions, spiritual guidance and political debates.

Meanwhile, the nine-month London DAB trial has started testing. It will bring eight new services to DAB in the capital, including Solar Radio, Resonance and Rinse FM.
