Global’s annual group-wide on-air charity day is taking place today, and with presenters and celebs taking part in the activities.

Stars such as Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, One Direction, Nathan Sykes, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Jamie Lawson and Ed Sheeran, and many more are lending their support. At the time of writing, Global has raised over half a million pounds for charity.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • Olly Murs to broadcast live on every Global station in just one hour
  • Simon Cowell “auditions” for the nation
  • The Little Mix girls cause mayhem on unsuspecting Capital staff
  • Ellie Goulding sings TV’s most iconic theme tunes
  • David Tennant and David Suchet join Myleene Klass, Alexander Armstrong and Alex James for a Classic FM radio play with a difference
  • Heart’s Jason Donovan, Stephen Mulhern and Emma Willis fire up the karaoke machine to perform for colleagues on the roof
  • Mark Wright sings his heart out with a rock choir

All the Global radio brands are taking part; Heart, Capital, Capital Xtra, Radio X, Classic FM, LBC, Smooth, Smooth Extra and Gold to help youngsters living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.

Stephen Miron, group CEO of Global, said: “Global’s Make Some Noise is back and we’re determined to raise as much money as possible for disadvantaged young people right across the UK. We’re supporting some remarkable charities who are doing incredible work but don’t have the resources to raise awareness on their own. By giving them a voice on our radio stations, our TV channels and our digital platforms, these organisations can reach tens of millions of people and make a make a much bigger impact on the lives of disadvantaged youngsters. Together with presenters from around the Global family of brands and some of our friends from the music and entertainment world, we’re asking everyone to get involved in this year’s fundraising day to help these charities do more extraordinary work.”

Here are some of the activities planned in detail:

Olly Murs will take on a bold challenge to become the first person to broadcast live on air on all Global stations, starting on Radio X this (Thursday) morning. He will be given less than 60 minutes to appear on every Global station.

On Capital, Simon Cowell will go from judge to being judged as he performs the Flo Rida hit ‘I Don’t Like It, I Love It’.

Amid the Make Some Noise activity, Capital Breakfast’s Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon will cast their Black Magic on Little Mix, who will have to carry out pranks on unsuspecting Global staff.

Ellie Goulding will become Telly-Goulding as she puts her twist on television theme tunes including ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘Neighbours’.

Heart’s Mark Wright will also be warming up his vocal chords as he joins the Rock Choir for a special live on air performance.

David Tennant and David Suchet join an all-star cast featuring every Classic FM presenter including Myleene Klass, Alexander Armstrong, Alex James and Alan Titchmarsh in the comedy whodunnit ‘Upstairs Downland Abbey’.

On the roof at Global’s HQ in Leicester Square, Heart’s Jason Donovan, Stephen Mulhern and Emma Willis will take part in a karaoke session.

Classic FM’s John Suchet asks the nation to “hold tight for the reload” for a UK Garage show on Capital Xtra, while his fellow Classic FM colleague Aled Jones transforms himself into his alter-ego ‘DJ AJ’ for the day presenting a show on the history of jungle and drum and bass.

Radio X will offer the chance to bid for band tickets, and a seven-night holiday to Australia to see both Mumford & Sons and Florence & the Machine.

Smooth Radio has a bunch of competitions, including a VIP trip on the London Eye with Myleene Klass and a day watching motor racing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with Tina Hobley.

Gold breakfast presenter Tony Dibbin will embark on a 24-hour marathon broadcast and is joined by special guests including The Osmonds and Sir Tom Jones.

Throughout the day, a host of prizes will be up for grabs including holidays to New York, Los Angeles, Barbados and Mauritius, plus the chance to meet The Vamps in Paris and Jennifer Lopez in Las Vegas. Across the country, people in schools and offices will be encouraged to dress loud and donate money to Global’s Make Some Noise.
