Tom Hourigan is joining Magic and Absolute Radio as Senior Broadcast Journalist for both stations from November 2.

Tom has been at IRN for the last two years, presenting and preparing network news bulletins and reporting live for Sky News Radio.

Prior to that, he worked in BBC local radio in Oxford and Cumbria and was breakfast newsreader at Mercia where he broke the ‘cat in a wheelie bin’ story.

Bauer Radio’s News Editor in Chief John Pickford says: “Tom is a great journalist with a proven track record. His naturally authoritative reading style and sound news judgement, combined with his passion and enthusiasm for radio made him the right person to join our enhanced news team at Golden Square.”

In other moves, Matt Dyson joined Absolute Radio’s Christian O’Connell breakfast show earlier this week.
