Capital South Wales breakfast presenters Matt Lissack, Polly James and Geraint Hardy slept out on the streets last night to raise money for charity.
They gave up their home comforts to take part in Sleep Out – the flagship fundraising event from Wales’ homelessness charity, Llamau.
Matt, Polly and Geraint from the Communicorp station signed up for the challenge and joined hundreds of fundraisers for the Sleep Out, outside Cardiff Central Youth Club.
Polly James said: “We were all strangely excited about this. Even though sleeping rough in the cold and wet weather was horrible, we’re all more than aware that there are too many people across South Wales who face this reality every single night and hopefully events like this will raise more awareness.
Giving up our comfy, warm beds for the night was really not that difficult in comparison to what others go through. Luckily we managed to get a couple of hours’ shut eye before heading to Capital Breakfast for our show!”
Money raised from Sleep Out 2015 will go to fund lodgings, emotional support, and other vital services for vulnerable people across South Wales.
