Simon Fielding has been appointed as the News Editor at Sussex based Spirit FM.
He joins the UKRD owned station from Anglian Radio where he had been the group Head of News across five stations.
Simon told us: “I am incredibly excited to be joining the team at Spirit FM and driving forward the station’s outstanding news coverage. I’m very passionate about creating compelling and unique radio news and getting to the heart of local issues. Working with a great bunch of professionals, I feel it’s an exciting time for the radio station going forward.”
Spirit FM’s Programme Controller Stuart McGinley said: “Local news is a huge part of our programming at Spirit FM and as we enter our 20th year, I am delighted we have managed to hire someone of Simon’s calibre and experience for such an important role at the station. I hope he makes a good cuppa for the early mornings too!”
