A number of UK based radio stations are already part of the new Apple TV app-store, just days after it was released.

But it isn’t the likes of Global, Bauer or UTV first to the platform. Instead, a couple of small stations have appeared on the big screen ahead of the rest.

Santa Radio, a new stream from Voice-Over Guy Harris has a dedicated app offering non-stop Christmas music via the TV. The festive stream shows now playing information on the screen, along with current sleeps to go and upcoming programmes.

Also, Portsmouth DAB and online station Mango Vibe has its own app, which owners say it took just eight hours to make. Mango Vibe plays dance music and was launched in August this year.

Robbie Harrison, Programme Director said: “This is an exciting moment in the development of this new radio station and will allow us to reach a much larger audience through this exciting new platform. Mango Vibe launched in August and we are working hard on our digital strategy to ensure we stay ahead of the game.”

There are also a couple of apps which provide the streams of BBC radio stations plus commercial radio brands such as Capital, Heart, Absolute, Kiss and Magic.

Over 40 stations are currently available – including NRJ, Planet Radio, Cherie FM, Joy 94.9 Melbourne and Nostalgie.
