Llewela Bailey, former ITV Central television news anchor, is joining BBC WM to present Sunday Breakfast.
She’ll be on-air from February 28th, covering Michelle Dawes who will be on maternity.
Llewela, who was brought up in Worcester and lives in Birmingham, said: “I’m really excited to be returning to my radio roots – especially on my home turf in the Midlands. It’s such a fun and diverse area where the people are so passionate with so much to say. I can’t wait to get acquainted with the listeners.”
Although she’s best known for television broadcasting she started her career in radio as a researcher for BBC Radio 1 before joining BBC Radio Nottingham.
The BBC says Llewela will be easing listeners across Birmingham and the Black Country into their Sunday from 7am until 9am with a mix of lively conversation on the big stories of the week and news from our faith communities. “It’ll be a fun, warm show with local voices and listener interaction,” the station adds.
