Former Capital Yorkshire presenter Stephanie Hirst is joining BBC Radio York for a weekly show.

She’ll present a two hour Saturday afternoon show from 12pm till 2pm, starting this weekend for a run for eight weeks.

Stephanie Hirst’s Vinyl Revival on BBC Radio York is in addition to her regular Saturday night show on BBC Radio Manchester, called Nothing But The 90s.

“After almost 2 years off the air in Yorkshire, it’s going to be lovely to be broadcasting to part of the county I helped wake up for well over a decade,” Stepanie told RadioToday.

“My Vinyl Revival show is one of the fun things I adore doing, by choosing all the music myself along with playing the songs live from the original vinyl copies. I’m going to be like a kid in a sweet shop for 8 weeks as I cover for Martin Barrass.”

Matt Foster, Assistant Editor, BBC Radio York told RadioToday: “Stephanie is presenting for eight weeks on BBC Radio York while Marin Barrass is involved in a short acting project. Stephanie loves her vinyl so she couldn’t resist the idea of raiding her archive and dusting them off to bring us a cracking music show from 12-2pm that full of familiar hits.”

You can hear Stephanie talk about radio and her future on one the recent editions of The RadioToday Programme with Trevor Dann, below.
