Chris Moyles took six minutes of airtime today on his national breakfast show to point out he wasn’t nominated for an Arqiva Commercial Radio Award.
He was discussing the shortlist with his team, and offered a £500 reward for anyone who informed him who the judges are for the Best Breakfast Show.
“What are the Arqivas I hear you say…,” Chris asked. “No one cares” replied Dave.
Bitter about not getting a nomination, Chris continued to call them “Stupid childish nobody cares awards” – “waste of time ceremony” – “rubbish bias corporate backslapping”. “We could care less about the Arqiva / Absolute awards,” Chris joked.
Have a good night in May – you an shove it up your Arqivas – Chris said at 7.55am Thursday morning.
The Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards are organised by Radiocentre -funded by Global and the commercial radio industry.
UPDATE: Radiocentre has written to Chris telling him not to be too upset because he doesn’t qualify for an award this year – but has invited him to give out an award.
Of course we’ve clipped it – have a listen below.
