Pete Waterman joins two BBC local radio stations

BBC WM 95.6 and BBC Coventry and Warwickshire 94.8 have hired Pete Waterman to host a weekend show during the summer.

Pete will present his new show from next Saturday from 4-6pm on the two stations. The show is called “Pete Waterman – Back to my roots” and will celebrate the very best of Birmingham & the Black Country with memories, guests, music, and listeners phoning-in.

Pete Waterman was last heard at Smooth Radio where he hosted a weekly disco show across the UK.

He says: “I care passionately about the West Midlands – it’s where I started and it’s the part of the country with the very best people. I can’t wait to talk to listeners to and share some stories”

BBC WM’s Editor Sarah Harness said: “The listeners are in for a huge treat – Pete oozes passion for the West Midlands” She added, “Pete is a legend, it’s a show that I’m sure listeners will love!”

BBC Coventry & Warwickshire’s Editor Andrew Bowman added: “I’m thrilled that Pete will be joining the station. The show will be packed with brilliant nostalgia and memories”. He added, “Pete is a Coventry legend, it’s a show that I’m sure listeners will love!”
