Two Radio Academy events took place last week, each crowning a local radio station as the Christmas Quiz winners.
In Cardiff, Capital South Wales came out on top, battling against teams from Heart, Global’s Newsroom, Nation Radio, BBC Radio Wales and student radio station’s Xpress Radio and Dragon Radio.
In Southampton, it was UKRD’s Spire FM which won the battle between a dozen teams, including from BBC Radio Solent, Spirit FM, Capital, Forest FM, SAM FM, The Breeze, Fire, Radio Sonar, Southampton Hospital Radio and production company Contraband Media. BBC and ITV presenter Stephanie Hirst was the host.
In Cardiff the event was hosted by Capital’s Matt Lissack, and the quiz featured recorded questions voiced by Radio 1’s Scott Mills and Greg James, Stephanie Hirst, Heart Yorkshire’s Dixie & Emma, Smooth Radio’s Clive Warren, Thames Radio’s Foxy and Pat Sharp, plus Des and Jennie from Capital Scotland and Claudia Winkleman from BBC Radio 2.
