Danny Oakes, part of the Capital Yorkshire Adam, Danny & JoJo Breakfast Show, has left the station.

He’s not been on the station for the last four weeks after off-air incidents, which co-host JoJo says are very private and personal issues.

A message on the station’s Facebook page today says: “Adam and I are back tomorrow but we’re sorry to tell you we’ll be coming back without Danny, who has left the show for personal reasons. We’ve had loads of fun together over the years and we’ll miss him. We wish him all the very best. JoJo & Adam xx”.

JoJo then added her own message on her own page: “Lots of you had been wondering where Danny has been over the past few weeks. I can now officially say that he will be no longer doing the show with Adam and myself. This is due to very private and personal issues. No he’s not having gender reassignment, and no he’s not terminally ill – he just has other priorities to focus on right now. I would like to take a moment to wish him well and to thank him for the many mornings of humour and wit we have all enjoyed over the past 14 years.”

References and images of the three of them have recently been removed from Facebook and Twitter headers, replaced with generic Capital branding.

Here’s a video of the team getting to know each other when Adam took over the show from Hirsty, who left the programme after 11 years, in June 2014:

A spokesperson for Capital Yorkshire told RadioToday: “Danny has left Capital Yorkshire Breakfast for personal reasons. We’d like to thank him for all his hard work and enthusiasm and we wish him all the best.”
