The Breeze to replace JACK fm Berkshire

Celador has told listeners to its new acquisition, JACK fm Berkshire, that The Breeze Reading is on its way.

JACK says it is “getting a new sister radio station called The Breeze, it’s launching in Reading on 107fm this August, so if you’re lucky enough to live in this fabulous part of the world you’ll have even more radio stations to choose from”.

The web page, now live at jackfmberkshire.com, says the new “friendly line-up of presenters” will be introduced over the next few weeks. However, it doesn’t say what’s happening to JACK fm other than to suggest it will continue.

JACK fm Berkshire falls within the Ofcom defined area of Thames Valley in which Celador Radio already operates The Breeze (Basingstoke & North Hampshire), The Breeze (Andover) and The Breeze (Newbury), so will be allowed to network all programmes with these stations. The Ofcom Format of the Reading-based service is for a locally oriented, broad music and information service for 25-54 year olds.

RadioToday understands JACK fm will move to DAB and be rebranded as Sam FM in due course. We have contacted Celador for a comment.
