BBC WM breakfast presenter Alex Lester is to start a new show across five local radio stations in the West Midlands from next month.
He’s taking over the Saturday night 10pm-1am slot, currently hosted by BBC Asian Network presenter Gagan Grewal. The show was previously hosted by Carl Emms, and airs across BBC WM, BBC Coventry & Warwickshire, BBC Hereford & Worcester, BBC Radio Shropshire and BBC Radio Stoke.
Alex, who left Radio 2 at the start of 2017 after 30 years on overnights, will continue with his weekday breakfast show on BBC WM. However, he did his last weekly Sunday show on BBC Radio Kent on 25th June, and presented his final Friday afternoon show on BBC Radio Oxford on 28th July.
