Heart London Managing Editor Gary Stein is leaving Global, after four years, to return to the North of England.

Gary joined Global from Bauer in 2013. He’d previously spent 17 years with Bauer and its predecessor Emap. During that time he held a number of positions including Programme Director at Sheffield’s Hallam FM and, for 7 years, Programme and Station Director at Key 103 in Manchester. When he left Bauer in 2013 he was Director of Music for Place North.

Global’s Director of Broadcasting, Richard Park, told RadioToday: “Gary has decided to leave Global at the end of this year. He’s moving back home to the north west to be closer to his family.”

It’s understood a replacement for Gary at Heart London will be announced soon.
