Radio presenters from the BBC and commercial radio are getting involved in the BBC’s annual fundraiser Children in Need this year.
The main television show on Friday night will be hosted by Radio 2’s Graham Norton and Capital’s Marvin Humes, along with Tess Daly, Mel Giedroyc, Ade Adepitan and Rochelle.
Fearne Cotton and Sara Cox hosted a special Children in Need Rocks the 80s show at The SSE Arena, Wembley, with Capital breakfast presenter Roman Kemp reporting backstage.
And across BBC Local Radio, a number of presenters are raising money their own ways:
BBC WM is holding a 24 hour karaoke marathon, where presenter Richie Anderson will be singing karaoke tunes for 24 hours
BBC Somerset’s Breakfast presenter, Claire Carter will be walking 75 miles in wellies
BBC Radio Merseyside will be sending their Breakfast presenter and producer out in the region as the ‘Biking Buskers’ to cycle and sing at the same time
BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s breakfast presenters Scott Dalton and Corazon Garcia are walking the length of the Viking Way
BBC Radio Derby will be live from intu Derby Shopping Centre between 10-4, including a live auction with Charles Hanson from Bargain Hunt
And BBC Radio York are Busking for Pudsey tomorrow. The idea is to champion new music talent in North Yorkshire and raise money for Children in Need. They have bands busing at Harrogate, York and Scarborough stations throughout the day. There will be reporters at Harrogate and Scarborough covering and the afternoon show will come live from York station.
