Margot James appointed new Minister of State

MP Margot James has replaced Matt Hancock as Minister of State at the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

She takes over from Matt Hancock who has been promoted to Secretary of State in the Department as part of UK Prime Minister Theresa May’s Government reshuffle.

Margot James was first elected as the Conservative Member of Parliament for Stourbridge in 2010, and was re-elected with an increased majority in 2015, and again in 2017 with over 50% of the vote. Margot was previously an Assistant Government Whip, with responsibility for Education and Equalities. On 18th July 2016, Margot was appointed by the new Prime Minister, Theresa May, to serve as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Her partner is former BBC radio producer Jay Hunt, now managing director of Violet Productions, a London-based video production company.
