Digital Radio UK and the Radio Academy Wales, in partnership with RadioToday, are holding a free digital radio event in Cardiff.

Digital radio progress was celebrated at a special Digital Radio Summer Reception on Monday at Global.

Together these new transmitters will reach 250,000 listeners throughout the area which was celebrated at a special event at Brownlow Primary School in Melton Mowbray.

Liverpool’s radio broadcasters gathered on Tuesday evening to celebrate the rise of digital radio in the area.

New figures have been released from WorldDAB showing over 50 million DAB Digital Radio receivers have now been sold.

Doing the DAB Birmingham will celebrate the Birmingham radio market and the role digital radio has played in growing radio listening in Birmingham.

On hearing presenters outside the studio being picked up on mic, the host muttered the words “fu*k it”.

Glasgow’s digital radio scene was celebrated at a special event, Doing the DAB, in the city centre on Thursday evening.

The official start of switching off most radio services from FM has begun in Norway.

The countdown is on to the official start of digital radio switchover in Norway, beginning on January 11th at 11:11.11am.
